Patient
Information:
Appointments
Our patients are seen by appointment. Both morning and
afternoon appointments are available.
Not all surgeons are in the offices at all times. When
you call the office we will make every effort to schedule you with the
surgeon of your choice at a location convenient for you. Some physicians
have office hours in more than one location. Please let the staff know if
you have a preference for a location.
Your First Visit
Please provide all medical records pertinent to
your office visit with our doctor along with a list of all medications
you are currently taking. Upon arrival we will make a copy of your
insurance card. If your insurance requires a referral from your primary
care physician please be sure to bring a copy with you if we have not
already received it.
Co-pays/Co-insurance
Co-pays are specific amounts determined by your
insurance company that are due for each office visit. Due to insurance
contract requirements, co-pays must be paid at time of service.
Co-insurance
This is a percentage that you will be responsible
for if your coverage doesn’t call for a specific co-pay. Since most
co-insurance amounts are affected by a contract adjustment, we do not
collect these at the time of service. We will file your insurance and
send a statement for the balance due once the payment has been received
and appropriate adjustments have been taken. You may receive an
“insurance pending” statement while your claim is in process but this
will be for your information only.
Fees
Our fees reflect not only the time spent with you
by the doctor but several other key components. These components
include review of test results or imaging studies, review of your
history and coordination of care with other physicians or health care
providers. The doctor’s specialized training as a General and
Laparoscopic Surgeon is also a component. Our fees are comparable to
other similarly trained specialists in the community. We will be happy
to discuss fees with you at any time.
Emergencies
Emergencies are always handled thru our surgeon on
call. If you believe your problem is urgent, please let the appointment
secretary know so that she can see that your request is handled
appropriately. Some emergency cases can be seen in the office. The
surgeon will determine what is best for your needs, and will direct the
staff to have you come to the best site to treat your condition.
Our office provides 24 hour, 7 day a week on call
service. After hours and on weekends, emergencies will be seen through
the hospital ERs. If you have a life-threatening emergency, call
911. Otherwise, contact our Lancaster, S.C. office at (803)
286-8211 or the Charlotte location at (704) 759-1770 and a
representative will be contacted immediately.
